Credible experts publish new reports building on three years of conversations with multiple stakeholders

As the first phase of Credible approaches its end, the project’s experts have recently published several new documents distilling the knowledge that emerged throughout the last three years and the multiple conversations with stakeholders from different sectors of the carbon farming ecosystem. Find a summary of these reports and links to the whole documents below.
Food region CoP's - a concept for collaboration to develop region-fit carbon farming for climate transition in agriculture systems, by Kaj Granholm and co-authors. This document embeds carbon farming scheme development as one potential value from organised collaboration at regional level, demonstrating how different sectors can facilitate design of integrated governance solutions and suggesting how such collaboration can also create space for more effective financing flows from both public and private sources. Proximal sensing for CREDIBLE carbon farming: case studies, the related digital ecosystem and technological uptake, by Paulina Rajewicz, Jon Atherton and co-authors. This document reports on the potential of proximal sensing in Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV) systems for carbon farming, considering currently available and emerging technologies. Earth Observation (EO) for Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) of Carbon Farming (CF) - EO across the Carbon Value Chain, by Mónica Miguel-Lago and co-authors. This report explains how EO can make carbon farming MRV more trustworthy and easier to scale, following the carbon value chain and showing where EO can help, from setting baselines to monitoring changes over time. A roadmap for the standardization and harmonization of the Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification systems for Carbon Farming in Europe: challenges and pathways for data exchange, towards an EU-level harmonized system, by Maria Fantappiè and co-authors. This report summarises the discussions held with different stakeholders around the topic of balancing the needs for accuracy and for sustainable and affordable costs of certification systems, and the specific role played by incentivising data sharing among public and private actors involved.
