Credible ends its first chapter

Over the past three years, Project Credible has played a central role in building a shared foundation across policy, science, markets and practice to increase momentum and trust towards credible soil carbon farming in the EU. The European Carbon Farming Summit, the project’s flagship initiative, has gained strong traction across the sector, growing from less than 250 participants on site in 2024 to more than 700 in 2026.
Since its start in June 2023, Credible, along with its flagship initiative, the European Carbon Farming Summit, has positioned itself as a key platform for shaping the future of carbon farming in Europe. An engaged and consolidated community, more than 30 expert reports, and key insights emerging from countless dialogues and discussions are among the project’s main achievements, with ramifications across policy, science, markets, and practice.
The first phase of Project Credible has now ended, but its legacy will continue both through the conversations and high-level reports produced by the project’s experts and through the launch of a new chapter beginning this June. Coordinated by Sonia Pietosi (EIT Food), this second stage of Project Credible brings a renewed consortium and a stronger focus on the implementation of carbon farming in practice.
As Credible’s first phase comes to a close, we would like to sincerely thank all of you for joining us on this journey towards the transformation of agricultural systems, and especially to our partners, experts, Focus Group members, and participants in the European Carbon Farming Summits.
Please continue to follow our channels and don’t miss out on updates from this exciting new chapter and the upcoming European Carbon Farming Summit 2027.
